This past Thursday, we at OstermanCron had the honor of hosting the annual Best of NeoCon event! Bringing over 30 furniture manufacturing reps together, we received a sneak peek of the latest and greatest commercial furniture trends and designs for the 2018-2019 release. Between the mini Chicago dogs and the Chicago style popcorn, it was like having a piece of NeoCon right in our very own OstermanCron showroom for the afternoon.
End users, architects, and designers were all in attendance this year to try and absorb as much commercial furniture trends as possible. Below you will find some key takeaways that I learned after attending this year’s Best of NeoCon:
- Resimercial or Respitality is in full swing in the commercial furniture industry. In fact, comfort is key when it comes to designing the layout of your office furniture desks and chairs! National Office Furniture brought their A game in this category. Their Collette Seating line delivers residential-inspired design and commercial durability. They even showcased a toss “bean bag” inspired lounge piece that really got the crowd going!
- As newer generations continue to enter the workforce, more flexibility is needed. Kimball showcased a truly flexible solution for an office space, the KORE Work Cart. This was designed for adaptability and embraces the concept of shared workspaces.
- More and more companies are starting to see integration between digital and physical aspects of design. Revolution Interiors showed off their ICE program, using virtual reality that allowed people to walk through an apple store right from our showroom.
