Wellness is one of the four main pillars of the OstermanCron WeBOC program. If you recall, WeBOC is an acronym for Well-being at OstermanCron. So, aren’t “wellness” and “well-being” pretty much the same thing? The answer is, “not really,” although the two are very similar. Wellness typically refers more to our physical, mental, and emotional state of health, whereas well-being is more inclusive—it involves how you perceive your life as a whole and includes social and professional fulfillment.
With the wellness pillar of WeBOC, it’s important to recognize that everyone has a starting point in their health journey, and we must meet people where they are in this quest. In order to appeal to a broad range of interests and needs, OstermanCron has offered events such as the OC 5K, a Hydration Challenge, Sip a Smoothie, and a presentation from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) on depression and anxiety. These are just a few of our programs so far this year and there’s still more to come!
At OC we believe that by offering a good mix of interesting wellness activities there will be something for everyone who wishes to get involved. We all have our own path to wellness in our lives, and at OstermanCron we offer WeBOC as a vehicle to help pave the way to personal feelings of contentment and well-being.
