Woof, Woof—I’m back and rumor has it there’s a new snack in the OstermanCron office! I run in through the front door of the building, feeling so excited. I quickly turn the corner into the breakroom only to discover what every puppy dreams about—the opening day potluck leftovers. Yum! There are hot dogs, hamburgers, an ice cream bar with toppings, and even mac and cheese! A dog’s dream and a mom’s worst nightmare. Of course, my mom had to go to her office to work, but I was free to roam about the furniture store.
This was great, and I was going to have a delicious buffet of people food, or at least, I thought I was. I kept trying to make my way to the kitchen when two people kept trying to stop me. I didn’t understand why. I just wanted a little snack. Eventually, they had to block off the breakroom door, using a Kimball’s Perch product, which worked great as a gate to prevent me from entering the kitchen. The OC team may have liked it, but I didn’t enjoy the amount of space there was and different levels that I had to climb over to enter the kitchen.
For those who have not seen Kimball’s Pairings Perch, it’s a versatile lounge-based collection that’s designed to work alone or as components. Pairings Perch adapts to changing work styles and shifting work postures, while supporting varying degrees of privacy in an era of open space engagement. In the end, the OC employees made the breakroom very private from furry friends wanting a snack.
