The COVID pandemic caught everyone by surprise. Everyone has been affected in one way or another, and no business is immune to a rapidly changing industry. Change is inevitable yet is often difficult. At OstermanCron we have been fortunate. We have an amazing team, and have managed to keep our team together, even when working remotely. We also have wonderful clients, who continue to keep us in business. We found ourselves asking, how can we give back to those with greater needs than our own during difficult times?
“Through vibrant teams and partners, we create unique solutions for those we serve, so we are all better at the end of the season.” If you aren’t familiar, this is our mission statement. To be clear, these aren’t just some do-good words we put together to make our presentations look better. This statement is the idea our company is founded on, and these are words we ask our employees to live by each day.
Our co-founder, the late Joel Osterman, believed in helping people become the best version of themselves. Whether we are referring to a girls’ softball tournament, or the end of a world-wide pandemic, we are prepared to help those around us find themselves in a better place when the season ends.
Most recently, through the Joel H. Osterman Fund, we were able to participate in two initiatives with Operation Giveback. When students were returning to school, we helped supply backpacks and school supplies so that students had what they needed to be prepared to do their best; whether that be virtually or in person. Additionally, our team donated clothes and toys to Operation Giveback’s Christmas shopping event. We are proud to help those in need, especially in our community.
We all have something to give, be it time, money, or products. Helping others can give us a sense of purpose and direction in a world that is challenging to navigate. Our team at OstermanCron is up to the challenge. While we still live and breathe office furniture, we know that giving back to our community is at the core of who we are, so that we can all be better at the end of this season when the “new normal” finally arrives.
