“Where’s Piper going,” you ask?
Ellie: Honestly, I do not know. Why would Piper be going anywhere when there are yummy treats here? Maybe there are yummier treats somewhere else? I want to go too!
Mango: Ellie, focus! Piper isn’t going anywhere. Susan is.
Ellie: Oh… Well, then why are we saying goodbye to Piper?
Mango: Piper’s mom, Susan, is retiring today, so now we won’t see Piper as often. Now we’ll be in charge of the blog.
Ellie: Blog? Is that what Piper was doing that was so special? I was so jealous she got to see mom at work that I never thought to find out why she was there. But, now that we’re in charge, that means more treats and seeing mom more—I’ll need to ask mom for a raise (in treats) for my service!
Mango: That’s a good idea… I’ll ask for more W-A-L-K-S, and maybe I’ll get to see more of Graysen and Graham’s human fetch game too! The humans play this big game of fetch where they use a big stick to hit and chase a ball, and I’ve been begging dad to let me play.
Ellie: I can’t wait to be in charge! I’m not sure how to run a blog, though…
Mango: Maybe Piper will be able to give us some tips? She’s apparently been blogging for over three years—that’s over 21 in dog years!
Ellie: Oh wow, she’s had a whole career! That’s almost as many years as her mom has been here. I guess it makes sense she’s retiring too, then… I heard from my mom how much Piper and her mom have done and how much they love OstermanCron. My mom said they had a very good goodbye for Piper’s mom. I wish mom took me with her so I could say goodbye.
Mango: Me too! They are going to be missed so much. Maybe I’ll tell my dad to set up a play date to see Piper soon… Then I won’t have to say bye, and maybe Piper and her mom will have a few good tricks (and treats) to teach us and share, too!
Ellie: We’ll definitely need some help, and I can never pass up the opportunity for treats!
Mango: Then this is only a goodbye for now because they’ll have to come into the office again and say hello. I’ll even use my begging face to convince them—that always works on my dad!
Ellie: I’ll beg my mom too! She can’t resist me—I’m too cute!
